As is the case with most powerful alignments that can bring incredible changes in your life- be careful what you wish for.
On August 1 we have the New Moon in Leo 8°. This New Moon in Leo will give us clues about what to expect next month, when the intense solar eclipse takes place in August.
This New Moon by itself, is extremely powerful, and great for intention setting as it takes place at 0° and is conjunct Mars, the most active planet. 8° is the degree of the Magician, which means anything is possible now, and the manifesting power of your intentions is extremely strong.
But as the saying goes, “Be careful what you wish for.”
The closeness of Mars means this is a new moon about action. All of this erratic energy is calling to you; get ready to tear up the rules and have some fun. If you don’t have a way to express your crazy- find a fun creative outlet or hobby that speaks to you.
Another important aspect of this New Moon, is its connection to our ancestral lines. You may feel a strong longing to identify with a “family,” be it your own blood, or a different type of bond. Essentially, a calling to the “hive mind” is upon us.
New Moon in Leo carries energy that holds reverence for the older generations. This ancestral connection brings our spirit guides closer to us, through any and all realms. It’s comforting to feel someone is truly on your side when you need them most, and this will instill greater confidence within.
The negative side of this ancestral connection to the New Moon could mean that all those nasty family skeletons might come breaking out through the closet and ignite some bitter family feuds.
All in all, this will be an amazing time to find and reconnect with long-lost and missed members of your family clan- wherever they might be, and whatever plane they are currently in.
During this time, we will feel passionate about protecting those we consider our family. Our instincts are extra-sensitive and we react super-fast to any outside threat.
Moon conjunct Mars is very physical, and most useful when one has to anticipate the moves of their opponent.
Those touched by this new Moon might be called upon to remain calm while sensing quickly who to respond to first. Home life can feel like a war zone due to the amount of emotional domestic energy that is exploding. Mars can influence us to where we might feel like we are walking on eggshells.
Those who feel a connection to this New Moon may feel like they are on the verge of discovering something new and different. Innovation is all around us, but some people who are less balanced might feel this innovation and newness as “crazy” energy, and find it difficult to manage.
Remember that your ancestors are here to guide you and help you through all of this, in order to prepare you for the next major shift in your life.
“Every creature was designed to serve a purpose. Learn from animals for they are there to teach you the way of life. There is a wealth of knowledge that is openly accessible in nature. Our ancestors knew this and embraced the natural cures found in the bosoms of the earth. Their classroom was nature. They studied the lessons to be learned from animals. Much of human behavior can be explained by watching the wild beasts around us. They are constantly teaching us things about ourselves and the way of the universe, but most people are too blind to watch and listen.” – Suzy Kassem
