Highly Sensitive People Are Actually Angels With Broken Wings

Sensitive people are the most genuine and honest people you will ever meet. There is nothing they won’t tell you about themselves if they trust your kindness. However, the moment you betray them, reject them or devalue them, they will end the friendship.

They live with guilt and constant pain over unresolved situations and misunderstandings. They are tortured souls that are not able to live with hatred or being hated. This type of person needs the most love anyone can give them because their soul has been constantly bruised by others. However, despite the tragedy of what they have to go through in life, they remain the most compassionate people worth knowing and the ones that often become activists for the broken-hearted, forgotten and the misunderstood.

They are angels with broken wings that only fly when loved.

Those words were written by author Shannon Alder, and they are honestly beautiful. If you are a highly sensitive person, then you will probably resonate with more than just those words of hers. Read the following thoughts on being highly sensitive below, and let us know what you think.

If you are an empath, or an HSP, staying silent is like a slow growing cancer to the soul. There is nothing relieving about not standing up for yourself. You may not win every battle. But you will know you stood up for you when no one else would.

True regret is knowing you missed your only opportunity to be simply a good friend to someone that was exactly like you. Or in some cases, that friend is you…be a friend to yourself.

For an HSP, letting go is hard. Goodbye is not permanent. You can meet years later as old friends and share what happened in your life. You can smile and laugh about all the nonsense that you both went through. However, letting go is being okay with never seeing this person ever again…being okay with never knowing how their life turned out…being okay with fifty or more years of silence… being okay with running into that person at a grocery store and having them not acknowledge your presence. This is the part of life that doesn’t sit well with most sensitive people and never will. It tears their heart in pieces, robs them of gratitude, drains them of anything positive and eats at the faith that holds on.

As for the rest of the population, I am convinced that the jealous, the angry, the bitter and the egotistical are the first to race to the top of mountains. A sensitive person enjoys the journey, the people they meet along the way and sees life not as a competition. They reach the summit last because they know the journey is more important than the destination.

Sensitive people deserve more than this world, or those in it, offer them. They are here to help the rest of us see the things we often miss or are too busy to notice. Be thankful for these types of people in your life and if you are a sensitive person, thank you for being an angel here on Earth.
