The majority of people who are living on this planet, would like to continue doing so for as long as possible. Preferably in a body as healthy as possible. That requires eating certain foods and having a certain lifestyle.
But how do we know what we can and can’t eat? 10 years ago fats were bad and bread was good for us, and now the opposite seems to be true. Luckily, scientific research has sided with the theory that high-fat foods are beneficial to our diet- if we eat them properly.
The following 5 foods are super fatty, and have amazing health benefits as well:
1 Whole Eggs
Whole eggs are the best source of protein, following whey. A lot of people think eating only egg whites is the healthiest way to eat them, but they’re wrong! Egg yolks balance the amino acids of the egg whites. Furthermore, egg yolks have a high content of B-vitamins, especially B12. They also have lots of zinc, calcium and phosphorous as well as having the best source of fat-soluble vitamins A, D and K.
2 Cocoa (minimum 80% cacao dark chocolate)
If you like chocolate, there is good news! Dark chocolate, ar chocolate that has a high content of cacao, have several health benefits. One of which, is increasing our body’s fat-burning ability. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants, and can also help lower blood pressure. Always look for natural chocolates with organic fats, not added fats, and a cacao content of at least 80%.
3 Coconut Oil and Olive Oil
Coconut oil is a great source of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), which is one of the healthiest fats there are. It also includes lauric acid, which boosts the immune system. Unlike other types of fats, MCTs are immediately used as energy, instead of being stored in the body for later. Olive oil is a wonderful way to get oleic acid into our diets, and it also has many health benefits.
Besides being one of my favourite foods, avocados have numerous heath inducing properties that make them a vital part of any diet. They have anti-inflammatory properties when consumed, and have a high content of carotenoids. Blood sugar is regulated, cancer is prevented, our body is detoxified, inflammation is reduced, and cardiovascular health is improved– those are just a few of the benefits from eating this fatty fruit.
5 Raw Walnuts and Almonds
These nuts contain high levels of micronutrients, like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They also provide us with plenty of fiber and protein, which helps regulate blood sugar and assists with weight loss. Nuts keep a level balance of fat burning hormones in our body and help to suppress our appetite. This helps us to lose weight because we eat less calories, feel fuller for longer, and we are eating a fat food.
