When it comes to logic puzzles, your best ally isn’t always your mind. Sometimes our brain tells us things that aren’t actually true.
This is where our perception and astute observations come in hand.
For example, we have an image test for you today that requires you to use your imagination, perception, and keen eyes to try and figure out the answer.
Let’s say you are at a party with some friends and one of them decides to try an elaborate trick. After hooking up tubes and glasses to a tap, your friend presents you with a question:
“When I turn the tap on, which of these glasses will fill up first?”
Look at the image below, and see if you can figure the answer out for yourself- warning, it’s not as easy as you think!
Do you have it? Only scroll down if you are ready to see the correct answer.
Are you sure you got it right? You may want to take a closer look.
The answer to this logic puzzle, is glass number 6! If that wasn’t the answer you came to, don’t worry, most people don’t get this right on the first try.
Remember, take a close look at the glasses. Do you see it? Not all the pipes are open! That certainly changes the outcome of the game, doesn’t it?
The point of this simple logic puzzle is remind you that the little things we often overlook can have a massive impact on the things around us, and how we think things should be.
Remember to take time out, breathe, and look around once in a while. You never know what you’ll find, and sometimes the best surprises are right in front of us.
I’m going to leave you with two of my favourite quotes on perception, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do:
“What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are.” -C.S. Lewis
“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” -Wayne W. Dyer
