French designer Mathieu Lehanneur is an artist who embraces a plethora of mediums in his creative process, and his artwork certainly attests to this. For his project, titled Liquid Marble, Lehanneur has designed a sculpture that comes from the intersection of art, science, technology and raw design. Sculpted entirely out of a slab of black marble, the installation resembles a patch of deep ocean water that catches the reflection of lights as you move around it, giving it the appearance of being fluid. The sculpture was designed using digital 3-D software, created with the aid of a machine and, lastly, received a thorough hand-polishing to bring it to life.
