What could be more fun than zooming down the hillside, wind in your hair, surrounded by loved ones and gorgeous Michigan nature? If this sounds like your ideal outdoor adventure, you’re in luck! Read on to learn about one of the Great Lakes State’s most wonderful and unique excursions.
Crystal Mountain Resort is located at 12500 Crystal Mountain Dr. in Thompsonville.
It’s here at this stunning lodge that you’ll find the Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide, which draws in hundreds of visitors annually for one-of-a-kind fun.
You’ll have to take a chairlift to the mountaintop before you can begin your thrilling journey downward — talk about exciting.
Hop onto a custom-made sled that’s designed specifically to transport you through the twists and turns of the alpine slide.
Two parallel sled lines are available at Crystal Mountain, each of which covers 1,700 feet of excitement. This is no ordinary outdoor adventure!
Whether you’re a daredevil or a calmer rider, you’ll be able to enjoy a trip down the mountain. In fact, you’ll even be able to control your own speed as you ride.
Did we mention the marvelous views? Be sure to take a look around as you zoom toward the bottom of the hill. This is Northern Michigan at its finest!
The slide is available for use by anyone over the age of three, though young children are required to ride tandem with a parent or other adult.
No matter how many times you make the journey, one thing is for sure: the Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide will take your breath away in the best way possible.
The slide is currently closed for the season, but will reopen in June and remains in use through late October. For more information about pricing and hours, click here. Happy sliding!
